We are seeking a senior Front-End Developer to join our growing team. In this role you will work closely with product designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to build high-quality, scalable, and performant applications. We’re looking for someone who is willing to engage end-to-end from strategy, through scoping, to delivery. You are curious about new approaches, willing to challenge convention and are keen to contribute towards the product vision. You are proactive, and capable of planning and managing your own workload. You believe in building exceptional and unique products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, and project managers to define, design, and ship new features for our clients' web applications
Design and develop responsive web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with a focus on user experience and usability
Optimise web applications for maximum speed and scalability while maintaining high code quality and standards
Write clean, well-documented code that is easy to maintain and scale
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in front-end development and share your knowledge with the team
Supported by the Parallel team, you’ll take full ownership of your work, and take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in front-end development
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with modern front-end tooling such as React/Next.js, Vue/Nuxt
Understanding of web performance optimisation techniques
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience working with 2D or 3D rendering in the browser (canvas/webGL)
Experience working with and animating SVG content
Experience with back-end development using Node.js or other server-side technologies
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress
Understanding of UX design principles and best practices
Experience working in a product design consultancy or agency environment
Experience creating web based data visualisations
9-day fortnight: every other Friday off
